Once arrested at Tomorrowland, now the Dutch actress Imanuelle Grives appears in ‘Right to prison’ | TV

In 2019, the Dutch actress was caught at the world-renowned dance festival with ecstasy pills, MDMA, cocaine and ketamine in her pocket. More drugs were found at her guest address, such as amphetamine, GHB, cannabis and ecstasy pills. The Rotterdam woman was arrested thanks to the landlord of her Airbnb, where she stayed with two friends. Grimes was eventually sentenced in Belgium to two years in prison – one year of which was suspended – and a hefty fine. After her incarceration, the actress said that especially ‘the confrontation with herself’ was difficult for her. And she still fears that feeling – witness the press text of ‘Recht Naar De Jail’ – still. “You immediately get stuffy, and you think: how can I get out of here as quickly as possible?”, it sounds. “The prison and the system trigger a kind of struggle to want to be free.”

In ‘Recht Naar De Prison’ six rulers are followed during their incarceration in the brand new prison of Haren. There they share their cell with an equal number of ex-prisoners. In addition to Grives, former boxing champion Ismaïl Abdoul is also a familiar face there. His story was filmed in 2021 as ‘Cool Abdoul’.
