Katsarov recommended that GPs participate in meetings to provide places for immunization.
The municipalities in the country to create the necessary organization for vaccination of the population in all settlements in our country. The Minister of Health Dr. Stoycho Katsarov called for this in a letter to the regional governors, to the Chairman of the Board of the National Association of Municipalities in Bulgaria Eng. Daniel Panov, to the Chairman of the Board of the National Association of Mayors in Bulgaria – Rumen Stoyanov , announced the press center of the Ministry of Health.
To this end, meetings need to be held to decide how to speed up the vaccination process at the local level.
The Minister also points out that in view of the importance of the process, it is of great importance for the meetings to be attended by general practitioners who operate in the settlements, as well as employees of the regional health inspectorates. According to him, this guarantees the creation of appropriate organization and logistics to provide places for vaccination and a sufficient number of vaccines.
Katsarov’s letter is in connection with the implementation of the National Vaccination Plan against COVID-19 in the Republic of Bulgaria and the need to achieve high vaccine coverage in the country, the official statement said.
At the end of last week, the minister announced that in ten days we will enter the orange zone, which means that those infected in the fourth wave will increase even more – this means that new cases will exceed 100 per 100,000, and hospital beds will be over 2500.
Earlier today, the state health inspector Assoc. Prof. Angel Kunchev commented that he expects that there will be a third dose of vaccine against coronavirus, which should happen at the end of the year. According to him, the closure is not forthcoming, and the certificates for the vaccinated will be valid until the third dose is officially accepted.
According to the latest data from today, the doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered in our country so far are a total of 2,093,630. However, the percentage of those immunized in our country is still very low – less than 20 percent.
