The Cyber Police warns the population about internet sites that from San Luis Potosí offer counterfeit versions of medicine for Covid-19, which if acquired and consumed could affect people’s health.
Moisés Valerio López, director of Analysis of the Center for Coordination, Control, Command, Communication, Computing, Information and Intelligence (C5i2), highlighted that there has been a growing activity in the marketing of counterfeit health products and drugs and of inferior quality. real and required to treat various conditions, especially Covid-19.
“The most reliable source for a treatment is the health sector or a certified doctor, I reiterate the call that the Health Sector makes to society not to be fooled by apocryphal products that generate some expectation in patients with any disease in the specific case of Covid -19, not to be guided by miracle products or home remedies that can put health at risk ”.
Said; that the Cyber Police constantly monitors social networks and has detected “people who take advantage of these situations to obtain resources with the sale of apocryphal or illegal products, the health sector sends us pages where they detect these cases, in coordination We identify pages and issue alerts so that people do not get hooked and do not make purchases online ”.
There is counterfeit medicine, warns the Ministry of Health
The Secretary of Health of the State Government, Mónica Liliana Rangel Martínez, makes an energetic call not to resort to self-medication or the acquisition of Roactemra or Tocilizumab to combat the Coronavirus, since this drug is being falsified and can be counterproductive for health .
It was the Federal Commission against Sanitary Risks, COFEPRIS, which issued a health alert to the state authorities to address this issue, especially since this forgery could occur from public and private pharmacies.
“There is a health alert for all those who have been asked to buy it, due to the falsification of this document, we have complaints filed by the Roche company, in a solution of 80 milligrams, injectable, the vial of 10 milliliters, it was concluded that the recovered products have been falsified ”.
The federation asked the State of San Luis Potosí to review batches of this document and report any anomaly to avoid more severe damage to patients.
Likewise, it asked citizens who have bought said medicine and have not obtained the expected results, approach their nearest medical unit to inform the authority about said situation.
The alert has already been published on the official COFEPRIS website and the same will be done on the state website “we are very alert because it can be harmful to health, those who have acquired it, we request that they review their batches, it is very important to the population if they have requested this medicine, and have not had the results they could have, we must give immediate notice, please do not self-medicate because we are seeing that there are people who take advantage of the pandemic ”.
