For the third time, the Public Prosecution Service has put photos of crown witness Nabil B. in the criminal file of the Marengo case. That file has been provided to the court and the defense in the case.
According to the OM, the mistake was made when compiling a digital file. It is the same pictures that earlier too entered the file.
The Public Prosecution Service has asked the court and the defense if they can return the CD-ROM in exchange for a copy that does not contain the photos.
The National Public Prosecutor’s Office takes the error high and investigates the matter. “The state of affairs makes it necessary to reconsider and adjust the working method for compiling (digital) criminal files,” the public prosecutor writes in a statement.
Marengo
In the Marengo trial, sixteen suspects are on trial for various murders and attempted murders. The prime suspect is the December in Dubai arrested Ridouan Taghi.
Nabil B. is the key witness in the case. He is in a witness protection program. A week after it was announced that he had made statements, a brother of his was murdered. One of his lawyers, Derk Wiersum, was liquidated in September.
