OM ended their streak of four games without a win by winning 3-1 against Girondins de Bordeaux on Saturday night.
Before challenging Olympiakos in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, OM found their way back to victory in Ligue 1 against Bordeaux. The men of Villas-Boas remained on four games without a win (1 loss and 3 draws) and had especially not yet won at home this season. It is now done.
Aligned in 4-4-2 diamond in the absence of Dimitri Payet, suspended, OM won 3-1 against the Bordelais of Hatem Ben Arfa, holder and present a good hour on the ground. It was first of all Florian Thauvin who opened the scoring very early with a magnificent curled shot of which he has the secret (5th). Positioned in front with Dario Benedetto, Thauvin could have doubled the penalty, but Benoît Costil dived on the right side (13th).
Thauvin and Amavi in all the right ways
A few minutes later, Hatem Ben Arfa equalized, but his goal was disallowed for an offside. Very good tonight, Jordan Amavi (who had caused the penalty missed by Thauvin) doubled the lead when returning from the locker room (54th) with a nice cross header following a free kick from … Thauvin. Amavi who then caused the goal against his camp of Pablo when he saw his shot diverted by the Brazilian defender.
13 – Marseille are undefeated in their last 13 receptions for Bordeaux in Ligue 1 (8 wins, 5 draws), their second best series against this opponent in the top flight. This is his best current series on his land against a club currently in L1. Habit. #OMFCGB pic.twitter.com/1zFgl1JEjc

Entered during the game, the English striker Josh Maja saved the honor of the Girondins (83rd), but it is OM who leave with three points and temporarily climb to 5th place in Ligue 1 with 12 points taken out of 21 possible. Established as playmaker, Michaël Cuisance played an interesting game on the Marseille side. His technical ease and his passing quality did good for the Marseille offensive sector. Luis Henrique played for a few minutes at the end of the match.
