The end of a (very) long wait. Marius Lindvik took off on the large ski jumping hill at the 2022 Olympic Games on Saturday to be crowned Olympic champion, ending Norway’s 58-year drought in this event.
Second behind the Japanese Ryoku Kobayashi (conquered on the normal hill last week) after the first round, the 23-year-old Norwegian made the perfect jump on his second pass to land at 140 meters.

He won the competition with 296.1 points ahead of Kobayashi, 2nd (292.8 pts).
After his 15th place in the first individual competition, the leader of the World Cup, the German Karl Geiger, regained color with the bronze medal (281.3 pts).

The Polish Kamil Stoch, double Olympic champion (2014 and 2018), who aspired to become the first jumper to win three titles on a large hill, failed at the foot of the podium (4th).
