Fishing in the Allgäu – Evi Dingebacher-Stehle has achieved a lot in her sporting career. Two Olympic gold medals, one World Championship gold in cross-country skiing and numerous other awards paved the career of the now 42-year-old, who retired from active competitive sports in 2014. Now the Allgäu native suffered a serious blow of fate in her private life, as she revealed on her Instagram channel: Your beloved dog Happy recently died.

Just a few days ago, Evi Dingebacher-Stehle posted on Instagram: “RIP beloved Happy. In deepest sadness. We miss you.” In the days that followed, further posts followed, always focusing on the memory of the beloved furry friend. The former winter sports star also shared videos of the graceful four-legged friend of the Magyar Vizsla breed (short-haired Hungarian pointer) with his followers.
“It is difficult to understand that from now on you will no longer be with us. You have just jumped over the meadows and mountains full of joy, warmed our hearts with your very special way and put a smile on our faces,” Evi Dingebacher-Stehle mourns in a post, but also emphasizes bravely and full of feeling: ” So we also have a little consolation. You enjoyed your life until the end, were happy until the last moment and didn’t have to suffer for a second. You will live on in our hearts forever.”
