AMSTERDAM – The smartphone, a watch or other item with a contactless payment chip has overthrown the bank card traditionally inserted into the payment terminal. The group of customers who pay with a mobile phone or other so-called wearable was in June for the first time larger than the group who put a card in a payment terminal at the checkout.
