Old cases against German Chancellor brought up as Scholz recalls “dementia”

There is a lot of circumstantial evidence that confirms the guilt of the current Chancellor Olaf Scholz in scandalous cases during his tenure as mayor of Hamburg. Dennis Tering, the newly elected head of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) branch in Hamburg, spoke about this in an interview with Die Welt newspaper.

“It is clear to me that Scholz and Chencher (the current mayor of Hamburg) clearly had a political influence on the Warburg (bank) tax procedure,” Die Welt said Dennis Tering.

The essence of the scandal is that from 2011 to 2018, Scholz was the mayor of Hamburg and held meetings with shareholders of the local private bank Warburg. The current chancellor was suspected of having helped the bank avoid collecting taxes of 47 million euros. At the same time, Olaf Scholz himself stated that there were meetings, but he forgot their content.

“Generally, Scholz is considered to be well structured and can remember everything and everyone,” Dennis Tering told Die Welt. He added that it was also suspicious that Scholz initially denied meeting the head of the bank, Mr Olearius.

In addition, added CDU spokesman, then senator for finance, today’s burgomaster Peter Chencher asked the tax administration to keep him informed of the bank’s tax procedure.

“Olaf Scholz and Peter Chencher still lacked the desire to clarify the situation. That’s why I think it’s right that the federal government, especially the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag with its enhanced file access, is now watching this. If MPs manage to provide evidence of the influence of two SPD politicians on the tax decision, then they will no longer hold office.” Dennis Tering said.

In early April, the opposition CDU, which lost the 2021 elections, said it would seek a parliamentary inquiry into the chancellor. The party plans to convene a special financial committee next week and has a quarter of the Bundestag to do so.
