Oil is getting cheaper, Czech pumpers are becoming more expensive

Fuel prices in the Czech Republic have been rising since mid-May, in the past few weeks always by tens of pennies per liter. Previously, prices have been falling since mid-January. Last year in mid-July, a liter of petrol was five crowns more expensive and a liter of diesel cost 4.50 crowns more than now.

The most expensive fuels are offered by petrol stations in Prague, where a liter of petrol costs an average of 28.92 crowns and a liter of diesel costs 28.72 crowns. Drivers in the Vysočina Region will pay more than 28 crowns per liter of diesel.

On the other hand, the cheapest fuels are refueled by drivers in the Zlín Region, drivers there pay an average of 27.57 crowns per liter for Natural 95 and diesel for 27 crowns per liter.

Oil is getting cheaper

On Wednesday around 5:15 p.m. CET, the price of Brent North Sea crude fell 1.11 percent to $ 43.83 a barrel. At the same time, US light oil WTI fell by 1.29 percent to $ 41.38 per barrel.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced on Wednesday that oil reserves in the United States had risen by 4.9 million to 536.6 million barrels in the week to July 17. Analysts in a Reuters poll estimated that stocks would fall by 2.1 million barrels. Production rose by 100,000 barrels to 11.1 million barrels per day.

Oil prices and the latest dispute between Beijing and Washington are pushing downwards. The United States has decided to close the Chinese consulate in the Texas city of Houston. The Chinese government has called the US move a provocation and a violation of international law, and according to Reuters sources, is considering closing the US consulate in Wuhan.
