State-owned enterprises (BUMN) Indonesia is included in Forbes’ list of the best companies in the world. The company is PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or Telkom.
Telkom itself is a state-owned enterprise engaged in information and communication technology services. Quoting from Forbes, on Saturday (11/5/2022), Telkom ranks 153 among the 800 best companies in the world.
Telkom’s position beats British retail company Tesco, then game maker Lego Group, the Canon company whose products have so far been all over the world, to world-renowned media company Walt Disney.
Telkom was founded on September 24, 1991 and is headquartered in Bandung, Indonesia. Quoted from the official website of Telkom, as a state-owned company, the majority shareholder of Telkom is the government.
The Indonesian government holds shares Telkom 52.09%, while the remaining 47.91% is controlled by the public. Telkom’s shares are traded on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) under the code “TLKM” and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the code “TLK”.
