The Egyptian Football Association was formally notified of holding the match between Al-Ahly and Zamalek, which was postponed from the fourth week of the league competition on the 24th of February at the Cairo Stadium.
In an official statement sent to the two clubs today, Sunday, 7:30 p.m., the Football Association set the date for the League Summit to be held 4 days after the Super Cup that will be held in the UAE on February 20.
The Egyptian Football Association announced last week that the summit match between Al-Ahly and Zamalek was on time, and there is no intention to amend the date of this confrontation except at the request of the security authorities.
The Football Association was awaiting the return of security approvals regarding the summit match after informing the concerned authorities a week ago to announce the date and place of the match.
In October, the Football Association decided to postpone the summit game between Al-Ahly and Zamalek, which was scheduled for the 19th of the same month in the fourth round of the League championship for an indefinite period of security instructions, he said through an official statement.
The Football Association announced on the first of last December the establishment of the summit match on the 19th of this February, but it returned in January and postponed the match again to the 24th of February after reaching an agreement with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council to establish the Super Cup between Al Ahly and Zamalek in the UAE on February 20 .
Al-Ahly will play with Sundowns on February 29th, while Zamalek faces Esperance in Cairo by going to the Champions League 8, meaning 4 days before the summit, at least.
