Het Nieuwsblad reports that KV Mechelen has taken over Jordi Vanlerberghe from Club Brugge. The midfielder played last season on a rental basis Achter de Kazerne.
The 23-year-old Vanlerberghe will sign a contract with KV Mechelen until 2024. Like goalkeeper Gaëtan Coucke, he passed his medical tests today. However, Vanlerberghe was told last month that his purchase clause in the lease would not be lifted.
The midfielder prepared to start the preparation at Club Brugge, but there was no room for him in the A core. Both clubs then sat down at the table again and reached an agreement on a final transfer.
Update: KV Mechelen and Club Brugge now also officially announce the final transfer of Jordi Vanlerberghe. The midfielder moves to Malinwa after being loaned to KVM last season.
