OFFICIAL: Álvaro Morata at Juventus. All details of the agreement were confirmed

Álvaro Morata has been on loan until the end of the 2020/2021 season from Atlético Madrid to Juventus.

The loan itself costs EUR 10 million, and the buy-back option is for another EUR 45 million, payable over three years, as confirmed by the Italian club.

Juventus has also retained the right to extend the loan for the 2021/2022 season for a further EUR 10 million. Then the amount of possible buy-backs would decrease to EUR 35 million.

If Juventus makes a definitive transfer, Morata will become the second most expensive player in football history by total money spent on him. In total, only Neymar cost more.

The Turin on loan will take on all of Morata’s salary, allegedly amounting to around five million euros a year.

Morata thus returns to the club where he already played in 2014-2016. His achievements in Serie A so far are 15 goals and 12 assists in 63 games.

The 27-year-old striker has also played for Real Madrid and Chelsea in the past, from which the Spaniards bought him this summer for 56 million euros (an obligation under the advance loan agreement).

In the last season for Atlético Madrid, however, did not live up to Diego Simeone’s expectations, although he scored 16 goals and scored four assists in 44 games.
