The Community of Madrid becomes the second region that offers more places for the Degree in Nursing for the 2022-2023 academic year by overcoming Andalusia. For the next course, the community of the capital of Spain offer a total of 2,161 places210 more than in the previous year, which represents a 10.8 percent increase.
On the other hand, the offer of places for the Degree in Nursing of Andalusia for the 2022-2023 academic year is 2,052, 21 more seats than in the previous course, and represents an increase of 1 percent, according to the document to which it has had access Medical Writingas well as the evolution of the offer of places in the last courses in these two regions.
Total, Nursing faculties of Spanish universities offer 13,721 places in the 2022-2023 academic year, 861 more than in the 2021-2022 academic year. This growth in places represents a 6.7 percent increase and it is related to the demands of the Nursing unions and the personnel needs, although it does not fully meet their expectations.
Total, public universities have offered 9,817 places, while private universities have available 3,904 places. In this increase, the nearly 600 new places for access to the Nursing Degree created by Catalonia stand out.
Despite the change in the second position between the Community of Madrid and Andalusia, Catalonia remains in first place with an offer of places for the Degree in Nursing of 2,399, which represents 17.5 percent of the total number of places. These three communities, which offer more than 2,000 places each, concentrate 48.2 percent of places offered in the state.
Unlike Medicine, in this case all the communities have Nursing faculties. La Rioja, the only region without a Medicine degree, has 75 Nursing places. However, for the next academic year, it presents a novelty and that is that the Nursing Degree, which has been integrated in the 2021-2022 academic year in the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences, will be taught in the newly created Faculty of Health Sciences.
