Since November 2, 2020, the federal police have been intensifying their use in stations, trains, at airports and at land borders in order to make an additional contribution to the federal states in fighting pandemics.

During the Silver Star Night and on the first days of the new year, more than 40 people who had violated the mask requirement were found in stations and trains in the area of responsibility of the Offenburg Federal Police Inspection.

In a large number of cases, warnings were issued, and in six cases the emergency services informed the responsible local public order office in order to initiate administrative fine proceedings.

A passenger who was traveling on a regional train between Karlsruhe and Offenburg on December 31, 2020 without the required mouth and nose protection and who showed himself to be unreasonable, was excluded from the onward journey by the train attendant.

As part of random checks at the internal border with France, travelers were also increasingly made aware of the corresponding corona regulations of the countries.
