The support group of the Buchhügelschule in Offenbach has set up a collection and delivery zone together with the regulatory office and the road traffic authority.

Arriving and leaving will soon be safer for the pupils of the Buchhügel primary school and the children of the neighboring daycare center. At least that’s what the school’s support group hopes for. Because recently signs at the former stop of line 106 on the corner of Obere Grenzstrasse and Goerdelerstrasse have been signposted: They show a pick-up and drop-off zone for parents and their children.

Together with the public order office and the road traffic authority, the promotional group had, according to its own announcement, sought a way to equalize the traffic and thus make the way to school for elementary school students safer. And so it happened – the Offenbach public utility company put up the signs, the sponsorship group took over the procurement costs.

Support group member Werner Lehen reports on the experiences he and other colleagues have had as traffic assistants so far. There was “chaotic behavior” around the school. “At the beginning and end of school, more than 100 vehicles drive this section of Goerdelerstrasse within a short time. A large number of the traveling mothers and fathers are inconsiderate, traffic violent and endanger the children. “

This will now change with the resumption of classroom lessons that the school is planning for Tuesday, June 2nd. Provided that the parents use the pick-up and drop-off zone, which, according to the announcement, is only a few meters away on a safe footpath.
