“McDreamy” Patrick Dempsey: “I love Vienna” – Tv

Patrick Dempsey and his colleague Alessandro Borghi spoke in the “Today”-Talk about the Corona crisis and its new series “Devils”.

As Dr. Derek “McDreamy” Sheperd was able to cure almost everything in Patrick Dempsey in “Grey’s Anatomy”. But for five years he has been documenting “Grey’s Anatomy”. His serial wife Meredith and fans still grieve for him. “It’s funny that it is mentioned all the time. It was a great experience. But I hope people accept that I do something different now,” he explains in the “Today”-Talk.

His latest project: The British-Italian thriller series “Devils”, from May 28th on Sky (10 episodes). Dempsey plays Dominic Morgan, the unscrupulous boss of Massimo (Alessandro Borghi). When the boss passes over his subordinates because of a scandal during the promotion and then a murder is added, the investment bank becomes a place of intrigue. Massimo wants to take revenge on the company. “Working on this project was really exciting. I learned so much,” says the US star.

His Italian colleague Borghi also raves about the shooting. “It was just this atmosphere. When you wear your suit and there are all these computers and you talk about finance, something happens in you. It was magical,” said the “Dalida” actor.

Dempsey was in Vienna shortly before Lockdown

A second season has already been ordered, but when it will go on is in the stars. That depends, among other things, on the Corona crisis. Dempsey was in Austria just before the lockdown: “We played soccer there with local kids. It was great. I love Vienna.” He has been stuck in his villa in Malibu (California) for three months. “I often don’t know what day it is today,” he grins.

Borghi: “We cannot make mistakes”

He is still worried about Corona. “I think the biggest challenge will be to create a safe environment.” Borghi sees it in a similar way: “I have heard from some people that they want to speed up this process. The film will be shot again soon. And I understand the need, but we mustn’t make any mistakes. We have to feel safe.” Often you need 100 people on the set, “because every single person counts,” explains Borghi.

Swipe against Trump

There is no question that the crisis is devastating for the economy. “There will be fewer jobs. Many will have difficulty getting a job,” said Dempsey, unable to resist a swipe at US President Donald Trump: “Depending on how quickly we can adapt and whether we can find the right one Having leadership will be critical to whether we can make it through this difficult time. ”
