A trial against a grandmother of three has begun at the Darmstadt District Court. She is accused of having exchanged sexual fantasies with a man who has since been convicted as a child molester. She is said to have commented on a child pornographic video with the words “simply cool”.

The trial against a 56-year-old woman who accused the public prosecutor of having prepared a crime with a man lasted just under an hour on Monday in the Darmstadt district court. The mother and grandmother of three, who previously lived in Dreieich and now lives in a community in the Wetterau, is accused of sexual abuse of her only one and a half year old with a 46-year-old man from Schifferstadt in Rhineland-Palatinate in November and December 2019 Having agreed to meet granddaughter.

A “monstrous charge”, as judge Mathias Siebertz noted at the beginning of the trial. Before the crime could be carried out, however, the man whom the grandmother is said to have met over the Internet was arrested.

The father of the family from the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis had already been indicted in the Frankenthal district court in the spring of last year after posting photos of the abuse of his four-year-old daughter on Facebook. According to public prosecutor Melanie Heine, he has already been sentenced to four years in prison.

In her indictment, the prosecutor accused the grandmother of having exchanged sexual fantasies with the child molester, who has since been convicted. A child pornographic video that the man from Schifferstadt had sent her via a messenger service, she commented with the words “simply cool”, reported the prosecutor.

The defendant admitted possession of child pornography files through her lawyer, but denied the allegation of having arranged the act with the man.

However, the trial was suspended after an hour because an expert opinion on the question of the woman’s culpability was to be prepared first.
