Since the beginning of the full-scale military invasion of the Russian army into Ukraine, the side numbers of all ships have been painted to complicate the identification of units of the same type.
The first two ships moored at the Mine Wall are the Project 1171 Tapir VDK. The Black Sea Fleet had three such ships, one of them, the VDK Saratov, was destroyed by the Ukrainian military in the port of Berdyansk. The other two are “Orsk” (tail number 148) and “Nikolai Filchenkov” (152).

Behind them moored three BDK project 775. The Black Sea Fleet has four such ships: “Caesar Kunikov” (158), “Novocherkassk” (142), “Yamal” (156) and “Azov” (151).
Now the 13th shipyard of the Black Sea Fleet in Kilen Bay is undergoing repairs on the Azov.
There are no large landing ships in other Sevastopol bays.
The Russian media wrote that in the Black Sea there is a grouping of the Navy of the Russian Federation as part of the 12th VDK. According to the agency’s source, the detachment of the ships of the Northern Fleet includes the VDK “Pyotr Morgunov”, “Olenegorsky miner” and “George the winner.” The Baltic Fleet is represented by the VDK “Korolev”, “Minsk” and “Kaliningrad”.
The listed large landing ships entered the Black Sea in the first ten days of February to participate in “exercises”.
Thus, at present, six large landing ships from the group are in the bays of Sevastopol, including those under repair, and six VDKs have put to sea.
On June 16, at a briefing, Natalya Gumenyuk, head of the precentre of the security and defense forces of the Ukrainian operational command “South”, said that a ship grouping of the enemy fleet is now in the Black Sea, consisting of three carriers of cruise missiles.
