Samsung recently joined forces with the Taiwanese company Epistar in order to market the first TVs with Micro-LED technology before the end of this year 2020.

According to Digitimes, the two companies have thus formed a partnership for the supply of micro-LEDs. Epistar would, with PlayNitride, be able to produce 1000 wafers of micro LEDs with a diameter of 6 inches per month. The partnership could involve investments by Samsung in the development of production units, which would then increase to 10,000 monthly wafers by the end of 2020.
Samsung already markets a consumer TV claimed to be equipped with technology, but in reality, it is not really micro-LEDs but mini-LEDs. The wall thus offers LEDs of 250 * µ while the micro-LED is limited to 30µ.
The South Korean brand should offer 75, 88, 93 and 110 inch screens by the end of the year, at prices which promise to be particularly impressive.
