Odd-Magnus Williamson was the first out of Norway’s new mega hit

NYDALEN (Dagbladet): On Saturday, there were six excited celebrities who were to perform their own song live on TV 2.

The new concept is that they get to try their hand at writing their own songs, with good help from professionals, and that every Saturday from now on they will compete to be responsible for the country’s new national scourge.

This year’s winner of the evening, with the most votes, was Helene Olafsen. Maria Stavang and Odd-Magnus Williamson received the fewest votes. It became clear that the one who had to break out of the competition first was the latter.

He is replaced by a challenger – internet profile Oskar Westerlin.

Williamson quickly disappeared after the cameras were turned off, and did not want to speak to the press after the defeat.

Olafsen, on the other hand, was quite surprised by the victory.

– It feels very strange, because I think everyone was so good. Is so crazy, because it’s so hard to judge. But it is Staysman and Erik Smaaland who will have the circle for the catchy chorus.

– No, or yes, I’m ready for that. What’s fun, to see how something happens with this. What I was most looking forward to was the process in the studio and sitting there and learning from those who know it so well. I think that has been very inspiring.

She is known to be pregnant with her second child, but has no plans to show recordings from the program to the children when they grow older.

– I think maybe they think it will hurt a little then. I get to finish things like that but they do not understand much, she says with a laugh.

Behind the judging panel were Ole “I’Dole” Evenrud, Christine Dancke, Stian “Staysman” Thorbjørnsen, Regina “Myra” Tucker, Lise Karlsnes and Daniel Kvammen.

First out was Caroline Berg Eriksen (34) with the song “Do it yourself”. The dice rolls from the judges ranged from three to five. Evenrud did not smell any hit song in her contribution. In total, she received 20 referee points. Nor did it Dagbladet’s reviewer, who gave her a 3’er.

Next up was TV painter Einar Nilsson (57), who opted for an 80s swing instead of “playing youth”. He even went with a juicy guitar solo to the great delight of the audience.

– This song here, I’m in it, said Myra and clinked with a 6’s.

The result ended at 23 points from the judges.

When Dagbladet spoke to him during the break, he was not promoted to end up on the top lists.

– You never know before you know, you know. But it’s not like I’m betting everything on a music career now, he said with a laugh.

He could also confirm that it was he who played guitar directly in the program.

Comedian Maria Stavang (26) then entered the stage. She definitely stood for the evening’s highest pulse, and posed with both a treadmill and high jumps to the song “Run until you die”. She also scored a 6, and ended up equal to Nilsson.

Dagbladet’s reviewer, however, thinks it all became “fussy”, and rolled a 2’er.

Comedian, now rapper, Abubakar “Abu” Hussain, performed the song “Hjertet går bang”. Also here the wheelbarrow came a 6’er, signs «Staysman». He thus moved away with 26 referee points.

Helene Olafsen offered après ski and the song «Ludvig Daae». Lise Karlsnes thought it was the best of the evening, and gave a six on the dice.

Odd Magnus Williamson offered pyro and over-ignition, and the judges had very different feedback.

– He is a real star, Daniel Kvammen exclaimed after the performance.

– This gave me completely wrong chills. It was simply a little uncomfortable, Myra thought.

He ended up in shared last place with Eriksen. He also took the opportunity to pay tribute to Hank von Helvete, who died on Friday.

Rest in peace, Hank von Helvete. Condolences to the family, he said after the performance.
