Ochsenhausen still in the running for the playoffs – TTBL

On the seventh game day, SV Werder Bremen welcomed table neighbors Ochsenhausen into the Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL). Both sides are close in the table, each with four wins and two losses – a tense match was inevitable. Shortly before, Post SV Mühlhausen had won 3-0 against ASV Grünwettersbach.

The first match of the night between Kirill Gerassimenko and Can Akkuzu went all the way, with a better finish for the SV Werder Bremen man. He beat Akkuzu in five sets (3:11, 12:10, 14:12, 3:11, 11:8).
American Kanak Jha directly tied the match with his 3:1 win over Christian Platea (7:11, 6:11, 11:5, 9:11). For Jha it was the fifth victory in five games in the Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL).
Matthias Falck put SV Werder Bremen back in front with a 3:1 victory over Simon Gauzy (13:11, 8:11, 11:7, 13:11).

Kanak Jha shines with two individual victories

Kanak Jha equalized again with a clear 3:0 win against Kirill Gerassimenko. The 22-year-old remains undefeated in the TTBL.
In the all-important doubles final, both teams agreed to use a new player. For SV Werder Bremen, Marcelo Aguirre entered the table alongside Matthias Falck. For TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen, Simon Gauzy Alvaro Robles should judge. The best start was achieved by the two Ochenhauseners, who were able to quickly pull away 2-0. Falck/Aguirre had everyone sit up and take notice by winning the third set. In the fourth set, however, it was Gauzy and Robles who raised their hand after converting the match point (8:11, 9:11, 11:6, 3:11).

The match winner Kanak Jha summed up the match thus: “It was not easy but the double at the end was very strong from us and we are very happy and go home with this win.” SV Werder Bremen: “Today against Ochsenhausen was a difficult match. We fought hard, but in the end Ochsenhausen managed to score two points”.
