NYC Point Gods, the new documentary produced by Kevin Durant!

While Kevin Durant has decided to request a transfer to get out of Brooklyn, the latter decided to release us yesterday on his Twitter account the trailer of a documentary he produced. The result is called “NYC Point Gods” and will retrace the journey of the most emblematic playmakers made in New York.

New York City is the iconic city of streetball worldwide. Next to Madison Square Garden, the second most emblematic basketball court in the city is not the Barclays Center, but the Rucker Park playground. The promised land of all basketball fans who grew up with the DVDs of And1 Mixtape Tour in the bag. Also the land where the greatest leaders of the city that never sleeps have passed. Post 1s with golden hands and the handle of madness that sent more than one of their opponents to the hospital for a broken ankle. Leaders who would rather their girlfriend break up with them than quit basketball, their real reason for living. Tough, resilient boys, enduring every touch near the circle. And men who were fearless when it came to putting on a show in front of hundreds of people. These boys featured in this documentary are Kenny Anderson, Mark Jackson, Stephon Marbury, Kenny Smith, Rod Strickland, Dwayne “Pearl” Washington, Rafer “Skip to My Lou” Alston and God Shammgod. Real leaders made in New York who made more than one young basketball fan dream. Just by seeing this lineup, we know that the “NYC Point Gods” project promises to be huge. And seeing the trailer, we are not going to lie to you that we are also very hyped for the final rendering.

The documentary is therefore produced by Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman, the two creators of Boardroom, a new media specializing in sport, pop culture and business around these two subjects. They are each in love with New York certified point guards, distinguishable among a thousand other 1 positions, and wanted to have the opportunity to make a beautiful documentary about players they idolized, players who had a huge impact on them during their adolescence. To accompany the testimonials of the players, there will also be others from important people from the Big Apple like Stephen A. Smith, Cam’ron, Fat Joe, and coaches from the New York universe like Lou Carnesecca. (former St. John’s coach), Jim Boeheim (Syracuse coach) and Rick Pitino (2013 national champion with Louisville).

The documentary promises to be very heavy, with beautiful headliners well known to NBA fans and the And1 Mixtape Tour. It will be broadcast in the US – on Showtime – on July 29, but as for the date of its arrival in France, we are still waiting to see.
