A Long Island woman was arrested for allegedly giving a minor the COVID-19 vaccine without parental consent, according to authorities.
The 54-year-old woman was arrested on New Years Eve in Sea Cliff after the child’s mother notified the police.
Nassau County Police said the 17-year-old was at the woman’s residence when she vaccinated him with “what is believed to be a COVID-19 vaccine.” The teenager then went home and told his mother, who had not given the woman permission to give him the vaccine, according to police.
In addition, authorities say the woman is not a medical professional nor is she authorized in any way to administer vaccines.
The woman received an appearance ticket at the desk and was released. She is due to return to court in Hempstead on January 21.
