Nvidia launches Geforce NOW beta on ChromeOS – News

Chromebook owners can now experience GeForce NOW through the beta launched today on ChromeOS.

After PC, Mac, Nvidia Shield and Android devices, it is the turn of machines running ChromeOS to have access to GeForce NOW. Nvidia’s streaming video game service is invited to this platform, which equips Chromebooks, in the form of a beta accessible through of the service site. It is possible to register by choosing a Founder account, which gives priority access to games with extended sessions and RTX ON for 5.49 euros per month, or free access which limits game sessions to only one hour. .

Nvidia GeForce NOW however offers an alternative: a special offer subscription that costs 27.45 euros for 6 months of access to the service, with the same benefits as a Founder account, plus a battle pass and content pack for the game Hyper Scape. A proposal that comes to half the price of its value, according to Nvidia.

Since Chromebook-type machines are inexpensive, they are often popular with students and other low-budget users who therefore cannot play locally on this type of device. GeForce NOW therefore has a place to be made on ChromeOS : with its streaming video game offering, it is possible to access the titles in its catalog from a low-power computer. However, it remains to have a sufficient Internet connection to make the most of it: opting for free access at first can be very useful to test the possibilities of the service.
