Nvidia acquires Dutch company that makes software for HPC systems management – Computer – News

Nvidia acquires Bright Computing, a Dutch company that develops software to high performance computingmanage systems. The software is used by hundreds of organizations worldwide and Nvidia has already partnered with the company.

Bright Computing is according to Nvidia a leader in HPC system management software. Companies and organizations use it for this Bright Cluster Manager, a software package for managing hpc clusters. After incorporation of the company, Nvidia will put that software ahead of its own portfolio accelerated computing to add.

Bright Computing’s head office is located in Amsterdam. The company was founded in 2009 by Matthijs van Leeuwen. The company originated as a spin-off of the Dutch supercomputer manufacturer ClusterVision.

Nvidia says it has been working with Bright for more than ten years. The software of the Dutch company can handle Nvidia GPUs, the CUDA technology and the DGX systems from Nvidia. Both companies are not disclosing financial details about the acquisition.
