Darmstadt – second division soccer team 1. FC Nürnberg landed an important away win at the last minute in the relegation battle. At SV Darmstadt 98, the Franconians celebrated a 2-1 (0-0) victory and overtook the South Hesse again in the table.

Fabian Schleusener (76th) had initially put the Franks in the lead before the final minutes were extremely turbulent. Fabian Holland (90th) equalized with a hand penalty before Nicolai Rapp from Darmstadt scored an own goal in the third minute of stoppage time after a tee shot by FCN goalkeeper Christian Mathenia. In the end, Nuremberg won outnumbered after Oliver Sorg was sent off the field for a handball with red before the 1-1 draw.

Both teams had started very carefully. Christian Clemens still had the greatest opportunity for the Hessians to score, who was unlocked on the half-right side and failed to defend Nuremberg’s goalkeeper Mathenia (10th). Even in the second half, the game did not improve. At the beginning, the southern Hessians missed the greatest chance: Mathenia only saved against Mathias Honsak. Then Serdar Dursun put on for Fabian Schnellhardt, who shot the ball from eleven meters but well over the goal (53rd).
