Dr Hamed Mira, head of the Nuclear Materials Authority, said that black sand is rich in rare earth elements, and these elements represent the backbone of advanced technology and electronics industries, as well as fields of artificial intelligence, revealing that the returns from value-added projects amounted to $ 6 billion in the Burullus project alone.
The head of the Nuclear Materials Authority stressed that all the work is in the hands of purely Egyptian and national companies, noting that the local component amounted to over 60% of the total project, commenting: “We have huge reserves of up to 5 billion tons. of black sand on the coasts of the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. ” .
