From now on, the November update is ready for the Samsung Galaxy S20 series. And you can now also install it on the Galaxy A52, as well as on the Galaxy Watch 6. Hey, weren’t we talking about the latter last week?
Galaxy S20 update november 2023
November is a bit of a strange month when it comes to Samsung’s updates. Security updates and Android upgrades tumble over each other, but for the Galaxy S20 series it is clear. Unfortunately. That device will only receive the latest security patch this month – and by ‘this month’ we mean: today.
Because from now on a new update is rolling out for the Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra. A download of just under 200MB contains firmware version G98*BXXSIHWJD. The package contains little new, but fortunately it does contain the November patch, including many improvements for the security of the Android OS and the One UI interface. The USB, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct connections of the devices are being tinkered with, among other things.
You can now download the update directly on the unbranded S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra in the Netherlands and Belgium, and on branded Vodafone devices. Moreover, the update has also been available on the various Galaxy S20 FE models for a few days.
Galaxy Watch 6 update november 2023
Perhaps more interesting than the update for the S20 series is the one for the Galaxy Watch 6. Last week we wrote that this watch had received too few updates since launch. In fact, the various models had been running on the June patch for months. Indeed, the month before the unveiling of the watches.
Today that is changing. An update of almost 700MB has been ready since this morning for the Bluetooth models of the Galaxy Watch 6. Firmware version XXU1AWK4 does not bring any functional changes, but finally – finally! – a new security patch. After installation, the watches run on the November patch, so they are completely up to date again.
As mentioned: the update is currently available for the Bluetooth models (SM-R930, SM-R940, SM-R950 and SM-R960). If you have one of the 4G versions (SM-R935F, SM-R945F, SM-R955F or SM-R965F), you will have to be patient a little longer. The update will probably be released for these watches soon, but not today.
You can install the update if you log in Galaxy Wearable goes to the Watch6 screen and there Watch settings chooses. Then tap Update watch software to check whether you can already download it.
Galaxy A52 update november 2023
And then there is the popular Samsung Galaxy A52, which is now also being updated. To be precise, the November update starts today for the A52 5G. Although the device will soon receive the Android 14 upgrade, today’s update does not yet contain the new software.
The update of over 250MB contains firmware A526BXXS5EWJ5. The ‘S’ here indicates that only the security of the device is being improved.
Funnily enough, the Galaxy A52 5G is the last of the A52 series to receive the new patch this time. A few days ago you could already download it on the Galaxy A52s (firmware A528BXXS5EWK1) and on the A52 4G (A525FXXS6DWK1). The entire series has now been updated again – at least, the unbranded models.
Installation of updates
Above we already described how you can download the update on the Galaxy Watch 6. This is a bit different on your Samsung phone – as you probably already know. You can wait until your device reports that the update is ready. Or you can check availability manually via Settings -> Software update -> Download and install.
