The revenue of Novaturas, the largest tour operator in the Baltic States, which also includes the Latvian company Novatours, was 13.8 million euros in March this year, which is 27% more compared to 10.9 million euros in March 2022. The company served approximately 15.5 thousand customers, which is 9.7 percent or 1.4 thousand more passengers compared to the same period last year.
“We finish the first quarter of this year with stable sales results. We have surpassed our 2022 results in terms of the number of travelers and revenues, and 15.5 thousand passengers in March this year is the largest number of customers served in March in the entire 23-year history of “Novaturas”. This was achieved thanks to the travel offer that met the wishes of the customers and the high load factor of 97%,” comments Vitalijs Rakovskis, executive director of the “Novaturas” group.
With these strong first quarter results, the company is 40% ahead of pre-sales figures for the 2022 summer travel season.
In addition, Novaturas Group has hedged 95% of its total summer program sales with derivatives against aviation fuel price and currency fluctuations in line with leading airline best practices. In this way, the company’s goal is not only to ensure sustainable financial results, but also to minimize risks for its clients.
The tour operator has observed that Latvians have increased their interest in this summer’s trips to the Greek island of Rhodes and the Spanish resort city of Barcelona. In response to the growing interest, additional flights to both destinations, which will be operated by the national airline “airBaltic”, have been added to the offer. Fast and targeted management of requests helps the company to effectively meet the wishes of customers.
At the beginning of April, the company launched the 2023-2024 advance booking of the most popular winter season travel destinations. Already in the first week after the announcement of the offer, much larger sales volumes are observed than last year, at the same time. It can be concluded from this that travelers are more and more actively renewing the habit of planning their trips ahead of time.
Travelers can currently buy travel packages to the main winter holiday destinations: Egypt, Tenerife and Madeira. In May, the “Novaturas” group will announce the full 2023-2024 winter holiday program, as well as special news.
