On the great stage of the Hill, you have to expect everything and its opposite: from the highest poetic brilliance to the trashiest realism, from the majestic beauty of a fanciful declamation to the deadly appearance of a blood-red fountain! If The characters of thought are radically diverse and multiform, they are in fact reduced to a single word which is available in abundance: the verb, the language, the alphabet from A to Z… And it is not the Novarina gang who will contradict us, actors and musicians assigned to the banquet of saying that the writer-director-painter organizes at regular intervals : Valentine Catzéflis, Aurélien Fayet, Manuel Le Lièvre, Sylvain Levitte, Mathias Lévy, Liza Alegria Ndikita, Christian Paccoud, Claire Sermonne, Agnès Sourdillon, Nicolas Struve, René Turquois, Valérie Vinci.
Large multicolored paintings on paper as the only decoration, manipulated on sight and from time to time pierced by the performers who come forward, solo-in-duo-in chorus, to declaim the truth of the first day: the superiority of man on the beast, mastery of language! A high-risk truth, when humans become animals use words that have lost all meaningwhen the talk s’avilit au communicate : clichés and shortcuts to format minds, proliferation of commonplaces to abolish critical thinking, removal of vowels to settle the debate between masculine and feminine for the reductive benefit of u“and you saw that nu purviendru purfutement u nu cuprendre”… Nonsense rubs shoulders with humor, learned reflection the most banal interpellation, the most beautiful poetic declaration the most trivial sequence! With Novarina, the verb goes off the rails, slips, exclaims, vociferates and softens, soft or strong, tender or plaintive. A wild and unbridled language, three hours of uncontrolled skidding, without downtime, at the risk of running out of breath for the spectator who doesn’t say a word and loses language, reference points and vocabulary!
A hymn to the words exchanged, a comic opera of invented words and disjointed dialogues, uttered or sung in all modes by supercharged, uninhibited actors and doped with the luxuriance of a text that turns everything upside down, balanced from the top of a stepladder or at the end of a mop, between an elderly moped and the statue of a dog with a sinister face. Like a crazy horse in a bowling game, a crazy and new genre “meeting” which gives pride of place to our imagination, makes fun of political correctness, pleads for uncaged speech, invites poetic disobedience!
