All New Toyota Avanza and Toyota New Veloz have a physical form that looks similar. However, it turns out that the two cars have quite different characteristics.
In terms of physical form, the All New Avanza and New Veloz have identical construction. However, there are a number of different exterior ornaments and supporting features between the two brothers.
For example, the All New Avanza is paired with 16-inch alloy wheels, while the New Veloz appears with longer legs thanks to the 17-inch alloy wheels. The shape of the fascia of the two is also quite different. The All New Avanza has a large grille similar to the Toyota Raize, while the New Veloz has a honeycomb textured grille similar to the Corolla Cross.

In terms of modern features, both come with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) options, including Pre-Collision Warning and Pre-Collision Braking, Pedal Missoperation Control, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Departure Prevention, and Front Departure Alert. On the New Veloz, there are premium features such as a wireless charger in the center console and using an electric parking brake with brake hold.
In terms of price range, the New Veloz is set to be more expensive, with a range of Rp. 251.2-Rp. 291.5 million (OTR Jakarta), while the All New Avanza is priced from Rp. 206.2 million to Rp. 264.4 million (OTR Jakarta).
In addition to physical differences and price ranges, the All New Toyota Avanza and All New Veloz have different characteristics. As conveyed by Head of Media Relations of PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) Dimas Aska, the All New Avanza has the character of being a multifunctional car that can be relied on for various needs. Starting from carrying passengers, carrying goods, and others.
Meanwhile, Veloz is present as a comfortable daily car, while supporting the lifestyle of its users. This is characterized by a stylish and luxurious Veloz shape, as well as more complete features than the All New Avanza.

Dimas explained that the transformation of the All New Avanza and Veloz was driven by changing trends and current consumer needs. According to him, when it was first launched in 2003, the Avanza was present as a powerful functional vehicle, then in 2012 it transformed into a more stylish one. Now, with their new models, the All New Avanza and New Veloz have a charming appearance as well as comfortable and tough to rely on in various needs.
“This change occurs because the conditions are different from the first time we introduced the Avanza in 2003, the needs are different, the road conditions are different, and the habits of the people are different, so it is adapted to current conditions,” said Dimas.
He added that the presence of these two new models makes consumers have a wider choice of MPV cars. Both have their own characteristics and advantages, it is up to consumers to adjust their needs.
“Even though the platform is the same, the features are quite different. In Veloz even some of the features he has joined the higher cars. In the Avanza, some features are still included, but because of the need for function, there is a real difference in development,” explained Dimas.
PT TAM presented the All New Toyota Avanza and All New Veloz at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. In addition to the two new products, Toyota is also displaying its complete product lineup, including the sports car line from Gazoo Racing, such as the GR Supra and GR Yaris. There are also Toyota’s flagship electric cars, such as the Prius Hybrid, Corolla Cross Hybrid, and others.
“At GIIAS this time it is a little different, because it coincides with Toyota’s 50th anniversary in Indonesia. For that we make the booth at GIIAS a little different, there is a birthday atmosphere. But the most important thing is that all visitors who come to GIIAS can see Toyota products that complete,” said Dimas.
