North Korea fires missiles, but without Kim Jong-un | Abroad

The trial was successful. On Thursday, “newly developed missiles, a new type of tactical guided weapons” were tested.

That term, new tactically guided weapons, is by no means new. Also in mid-2019 a ‘new type of tactically guided weapon’ was tried out, at the time a provocation for the then US President Trump.

The term tactical weapon is used for short-range missiles.

However, according to North Korea, there would now be a heavier ‘head’ on the missile that could cause more damage, international journalists report.

“The development of this weapon system is of great importance in building the military power of this country and deterring all kinds of military threats,” Ri Pyong Chol, the chief of the test program, told the state news agency KCNA.

Kim Jong-un himself would not have been present: he inspected new buses.
