Nora Ikstena, Author, Steps into Public After Lengthy Treatment

At the beginning of last week, a meeting with the artist Kristiana Dimiteri was held in the “Istaba” gallery. This was also a very special evening for writer Nora Iksten.

For the first time after the long treatment, Ikstena went out in public and took it upon herself to lead a conversation with the artist. The event was held in a narrow circle. The artist Aivars Vilipsōns, the husband of Nora’s sister Indra, also arrived. Among the audience was also the daughter of Aivars and Christian Dimiters, Berta, with her offspring.

“Apollo.lv” already reported that the poet and playwright Māra Zālīte published a call for donations for the health of the writer Nora Ikstenas on the “Facebook” website last April.

Later, Iksten’s sister Indra Vilipson occasionally told how the writer was doing, saying that everything was going well. After several months of recovery, those who did not remain indifferent during the difficult phase of her life were invited to Nora’s home in Ikškile last December. To everyone who donated funds for her treatment and supported morale, Nora wrote her gratitude in the book “Friend of Our Lady”.
