No quarantine in France when entering the EU

People who come from the EU, the Schengen area or Great Britain are excluded from this, the presidency announced on Sunday. This applies regardless of the nationality of the travelers.

The regulations for French and other EU citizens who travel to France or return from other regions are said to be specified in the coming days.

The French government decided on Saturday to extend the health emergency that had been in effect since 24 March to 24 July. Health Minister Olivier Vran announced a two-week quarantine for all people entering France. The draft law passed by the Council of Ministers has yet to be approved by Parliament, and discussions are scheduled to start on Monday.

France is one of the worst affected countries in Europe by the pandemic. According to the authorities on Sunday evening, 24,895 people have died in the country after being infected with the novel corona virus. 135 deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours. The number of patients receiving intensive care is still falling.
