No princess camp, but a heavy military summer camp: new photos show Belgian princess Elisabeth in action | News

Utmost concentration. It can be read on the face of Princess Elisabeth (20). Not surprising, because the bar is set high during the summer camp of the Royal Military Academy (KMS). The purpose of the camp is to practice and further develop learned skills – such as patrol techniques and leadership. The stress resistance and the resistance to fatigue are also put to the test.

“The group is divided into teams of eight people. They have to give and carry out orders in a structured manner,” says Lieutenant Colonel Isabel Vanhavermaet. “The main objective is to get ahead in the field without being seen. Both by day and by night. They should observe at their destination and then return to brief their teammates as fully as possible.”

Princess Elisabeth completed her shortened training at the KMS last year, but is still allowed to participate in the annual summer camp. She may also meet her brother, Prince Gabriel, there next year. He is now also starting his education in social and military sciences. Meanwhile, the princess is studying history & politics at Oxford University, where she successfully completed her first year.
