No job, no money: Giulia Siegel applies for Hartz-IV – People

Composer Ralph Siegel’s daughter has financial concerns. In an interview, she revealed how bad it really is.

Giulia Siegel is very concerned: Since the Corona crisis, she has not been able to pursue her job as a DJane. “The big shock came in mid-March, when a hundred percent of all jobs were canceled. The perspective of when can I work again and when can I hang up is not just zero for me, but for all artists,” says the triple Interview with RTL.

Giulia still has savings

Financially it is getting scarce for the 45-year-old. Because even though she doesn’t work, she has costs in the five-digit range. What is left for her are shares and reserves, but Giulia does not want to attack them. “I don’t want to have to shut down what I’m saving for my age because the state has shutdown,” explains the 45-year-old. Her plan: she wants to receive unemployment benefits.

482 euros to live

“The tax advisors recommended to us musicians to report us on unemployment benefit 2. That would mean that the rent and heating costs will be taken over, plus 482 euros to live – so the classic Hartz IV rate,” says Giulia. It is still unclear whether she will get the support.
