The Ministry of Education, Science and Culture contradicts reports that it has recalled fellows from Cuba. All fellows who study through the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture in Cuba in the formal Cuba-Suriname scholarship program continue to study. They have not been recalled by the ministry.
Students who have gone to study by other means outside the formal scholarship program of the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture are not formally fellows. Students who study without a grant from the Ministry of Education, but who study with other means, including from their parents, companies, other ministries or student loans, are not fellows.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Culture does not have the authority to recall those students. That has not happened, the ministry reports.
