The 49ers, who had already planned to stay until the Dec. 26 game against the Arizona Cardinals, they will also receive Seattle Seahawks in Glendale, Arizona, on January 3.
By the end of the season, the Niners will have played three “home” games and one road game at State Farm Stadium during the final month of the season.
The extension of the Santa Clara County protocols was something the Niners were looking forward to when they moved in, so coach Kyle Shanahan told his team that he and the operations staff would do their best to try to get the beings player darlings to Arizona for Christmas week.
