This is confirmed by the family’s lawyer Ben Crump CNN.

The death toll after the festival tragedy has thus risen to ten dead. During the weekend, several people will have sued Astroworld Festival for the tragedy.

Ezra Blount (9) was placed in a medical coma in an attempt to limit the damage to the brain, liver and kidneys, but on Sunday it was announced that he unfortunately died.

CRUSHED: Travis Scott has stated that he is crushed over the fatal accidents during the Astroworld Festival where ten people died.

– Tonight, the Blount family mourns the incomprehensible loss of their precious, young son. This should not have been the result of taking their son to a concert, which should have been a joyous celebration. Ezra’s death is heartbreaking, says lawyer Crump in a statement.

– We are committed to seeking answers and justice for the Blount family. But tonight we stand together in solidarity with the family, in grief and prayer, it is further stated in the statement.

Trampled to death

The deceased boy’s grandfather, Bernon Blount, previously told CNN that his grandson was in Houston to see his favorite artist and that he had been to the concert with his father, Treson Blount.

During the concert, the crowd in the crowd that arose was trampled down and squeezed so it became difficult to breathe during the artist Travis Scott’s concert.

– When my son went to the concert, he had my grandson on his shoulders, Blount has said.

TRAGIC OUTCOME: The emergency services moved out massively to Astroworld Festival on Friday 5 November, where about 50,000 festival goers participated. Many were injured and ten people died after the congestion that occurred.

– All the people pushed and he could not breathe so he ended up fainting because of all the pressure on his body. When he lost consciousness, Ezra fell off his father’s shoulders and into the crowd.

The boy had already been taken to Texas Children’s Hospital as an unknown patient when the father reached the place where he lost contact with his son.

Crushed after death

The grandfather has said that Ezra “had a cardiac arrest that damaged his heart”. The boy will also have liver and lung injuries and swelling in the brain, according to Blount.

CNN writes that they have not been able to confirm Ezra’s medical status from the hospital.

According to Bernon Blount, the family is devastated after the death.

– What was supposed to be a father-son event for the two to bond has turned into something terrible and tragic.

CANCELED: The rest of the concerts at Astroworld were canceled after the tragedy.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner condoles from his Twitter account Sunday.

– I’m sad to hear about Ezra’s death tonight. Our city prays for his mother, father, grandparents and other family members and classmates. They will need all our support in the months and years to come. May God give them strength. RIP Ezra, he writes.

Dangerous for several hours

Information from the fire department and the police reveals a situation that became increasingly dangerous during Travis Scott’s concert, writes CNN.

Shortly after 5pm on Friday, November 5, the Houston Police Department reported “dangerous crowds” at the scene. Eight minutes before Scott went on stage at 9 pm the same evening, more than 260 people had already received treatment for injuries.

Less than half an hour after the concert starts, the logging according to CNN reveals that “this is when it got serious”.

Unclear what Scott observed

It is unclear what Travis Scott himself saw from the stage and whether he was aware of the seriousness of what was happening, but he continued to play until 22.10. That was after the authorities declared the concert a mass injury scene, according to fire chief Samuel Peña in Houston, last Saturday.

Travis Scott was not aware of the extent until the day after the concert, his lawyer stated on Friday.

“It never reached Travis, not even his staff,” said attorney Ed McPherson on the ABC program “Good Morning, America.”

Scott has been sued by several of the victims’ families and festival participants after the tragedy. He has gone out of his way to say that he will cover all the funeral costs of the dead and help pay for mental health care for those affected by the accident.
