Nearly 200 people have been involved in the search for nine-year-old Charlotte Sena. Sena was on a camping trip with her family at Moreau Lake State Park in Saratoga County, New York. She was last seen at a quarter past six on Saturday.
The police now fear that the girl has been abducted, write more media.
The nine-year-old was last seen riding a bike in the park with several other children. She is said to have cycled one last round alone, and never returned.
The police fear the worst
When Sena did not return to the camp, the parents contacted the police. At a quarter past seven that evening, her bicycle was found.
– The child has disappeared under circumstances that lead the police to believe that she is in danger of serious injury or death, it is stated in a statement from the police.
In addition to the search crews, both drones and dogs are used in the search, according to Sky News.
The police describe Sena as 1.37 cm tall, with blond hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink t-shirt, dark blue pants, black Crocs and a gray bike helmet.
Embossed governor
During a press conference on Sunday, New York Governor Kathy Hochul spoke about the case.
– As a mother and grandmother, I cannot imagine the pain the parents go through. New York’s hearts are broken today. Hopefully this will end with a reunion, but with a family that has been traumatized, she says, before delivering a clear message.
– We will turn over every stone, branch, table and hut in the search for Charlotte.
In a statement to NBC News pleads with Sena’s family to get in touch if you know anything.
– We just want her to come home safely, as all parents would have wanted. No tip is too small, so please call if you know anything.
