It’s summer Nina Dobrev is doing what everyone imagines they should be doing in the summer – at the beach. Just a week ago, we enjoyed a lot of photos that she uploaded to her personal Instagram account, which showed her vacationing in The Maldives.

AT HOHO on Jessica Shore Nina Dobrev opened up about her past relationship that ended because of a role. Around the time she auditioned for The Vampire Diaries, her then-boyfriend (unnamed) applied for the role of Damon Salvatore.
“They were supposed to choose him, but later they didn’t”, she says and adds that when she got a role in the series, things went wrong. “We broke up,” Nina says with a laugh. The role of Damon went to Ian Somerhalder, whom Nina dated from 2010 to 2013.
Although Dobrev and Somerhalder have split, they are close friends and can often be seen together on vacations with their current partners. Nina is with Olympic snowboarding champion Shaun White and Ian is with actress Nikki Reed.
