Slovak hockey player Zdeno Chára set a new NHL record in the number of defender matches played.
On the night of Friday, he played in the New York Islanders jersey on the ice of San Jose for his 1652nd duel in the regular season and became the first in the number of starts among the quarterbacks, when he overcame Chris Chelios (1651).
