ISO 14001 is an international standard that evaluates and certifies whether a company takes environmental management as its main business policy and systematically manages and improves it.
With the acquisition of this certification, Nonghyup Bank plans to further expand investment and support in green finance such as new and renewable energy and smart farms, and lay the foundation for an ESG (environmental, social, governance) leading bank.
In order to participate in the Korean-style’RE100′ (100% renewable energy), which will be introduced in 2021, the green premium rate plan is introduced sequentially, and solar power is installed in bank-owned buildings to actively use green energy consumption. In addition, high-efficiency LEDs are installed in the branches, and paperless branches will be continuously promoted through electronic windows.
In addition, by 2024, it plans to make all efforts to reduce GHG emissions, such as replacing business vehicles with hybrid and electric vehicles, which are low-carbon eco-friendly vehicles, and building electric charging facilities in bank-owned parking lots to expand the spread of electric vehicles. .
