At the start of NFL Week 7, the Philadelphia Eagles (2-4-1) win the NFC East duel against the New York Giants (1-6) after a race to catch up in the final quarter with 22:21.
The Giants lead after a 2-yard touchdown pass from QB Daniel Jones to Sterling Shepard 6:21 minutes before the end supposedly comfortably with 21:10. But with just under four minutes on the clock, a 3-yard TD pass from Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz to Greg Ward initially made it 16:21, 46 seconds before the end an 18-yard TD pass from Wentz Boston Scott the victory.
Jones takes care of the scene of the game: In the third quarter, at 7:10, the quarterback takes his legs from his own 12-yard line and escapes the entire defense, but not gravity. He stumbles on the opponent’s 10-yard line and misses a safe touchdown. The mishap remains without consequences because the Giants still complete the drive in the end zone.
The scene causes laughter not only from Jones’ teammates on the sidelines, but also from NFL stars on social media. “I’m not allowed to say anything about it, because I couldn’t run that far,” says Patrick Mahomes with laughing emoticons.
Philadelphia takes the lead in the weak division for the time being, the Eagles overtake the Dallas Cowboys (2-4).
Game postponement in the NFL
The Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks will not play as planned on Sunday evening, but will play the division duel on Monday night at 1:20 a.m. The game of the Las Vegas Raiders against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which should have been played on this date, has been postponed to Sunday 9:05 pm.
The reason for the postponement is that the NFL wanted to allow fans to access the stadium during American prime time. While up to 1,200 fans are expected at the Cardinals, no spectators are allowed in Las Vegas due to the corona virus.
