After two weeks: several buried miners rescued in China
Rescue in dire need. After about two weeks, the first miners who had been buried after a mining accident in eastern China were recovered. According to the state television broadcaster CCTV, they were discovered in a separate section of the mine. Physically, they are very weak and therefore they have to receive medical care first. A total of 22 miners were trapped at a depth of around 600 meters. In at least two explosions in the gold mine in Shandong Province, the shaft was buried and the internal communication system was badly damaged. But afterwards the rescue workers succeeded in drilling a hole and using this route to supply the victims with food and medicine.
