Newest 2022 Eid Homecoming Requirements, Mandatory PCR?

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Covid-19 Handling Task Force has issued the latest regulations for domestic travelers (PPDN), including going home. This is stated in the Addendum to the Circular Letter of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Number 16 of 2022 concerning Provisions for Travel of Domestic People during the Covid-19 Pandemic Period.

There are additional special travel conditions for those ages 6-17 who have received the second dose of vaccine. Valid for all modes of transportation, whether by sea, land (by private or public vehicles), crossings and trains.

So is PCR mandatory? The following are the latest regulations for domestic travel that will take effect from April 19, 2022:

  1. PPDN who have received the third dose of vaccination (booster) are not required to show a negative result of the RT-PCR test or rapid antigen test.
  2. PPDN who have received the second dose of vaccination are required to show a negative result of the rapid antigen test whose sample is taken within 1 x 24 hours or a negative result of the RTPCR test whose sample is taken within 3 x 24 hours before departure as a condition of travel.
  3. PPDN who have received the first dose of vaccination must show a negative result of the RT-PCR test whose sample is taken within 3 x 24 hours before departure as a condition of travel
  4. PPDN with special health conditions or comorbid diseases that prevent travellers from receiving vaccinations must show a negative result of the RT-PCR test whose sample is taken within a maximum of 3 x 24 hours before departure as a travel requirement, and the requirement is to attach a doctor’s certificate from the hospital government stating that the person concerned has not and/or is unable to take part in the Covid-19 vaccination.
  5. PPDNs under 6 years of age are exempt from vaccination provisions and are not required to show a negative result of the RT-PCR or rapid antigen test, but must travel with a travel companion who has complied with the provisions for vaccination and Covid-19 examination and applies strict health protocols.
  6. PPDN aged 6-17 years and have received the second dose of vaccine are exempt from the obligation to show a negative rapid antigen test result, but must attach a second dose vaccine card/certificate.
