A state of anxiety experienced by Egyptian families after the spread of respiratory syncytial virus, the Ministry of Health and Population has announced that if it is proven that the child suffers from shortness of breath and cyanosis of the skin, it is likely that he is infected with the virus syncytial and requires immediate hospitalization.
The symptoms of this virus are fever, runny nose, diarrhoea, vomiting and sore throat. The child needs to visit a specialist doctor when symptoms appear. The incubation period of the disease varies from 4 to 6 days and can reach two weeks, then symptoms appear on the patient.
The Ministry of Health warns that the virus lives on surfaces for hours and that infants, under 6 months of age, and children suffering from immune diseases or illnesses are the most vulnerable to severe symptoms, while pathological symptoms continue with children two years to five years and one to two weeks Children under two years of age are the most common category of infection rates.
