Newborn needs 13 stitches after face incision during emergency caesarean section

A Colorado newborn baby received 13 stitches after an emergency caesarean section left a large cut on the face, and the family, both shocked and upset, are now seeking financial and legal help, reports FOX31.

Reazjhana Williams, the baby’s mother, planned a natural birth; however, during labor at Denver Health Medical Center, doctors told parents that while they could feel the baby’s movement, they couldn’t sense her heartbeat, they said New York PostThe doctors immediately decided to do an emergency caesarean section, but when the baby was born, the family was upset when they saw that she had a large cut on her face, and the family turned to FOX31 for help.

“They said her face was close to the placental wall,” Damarqus Williams, the baby’s father, told FOX31.

“I tried to understand what happened, but in addition to the fact that her face had been cut and a plastic surgeon had to come to do it, there are many things I don’t understand about cesarean section,” said Reazjhana of the point of sale. “I’ve never heard of anyone who has to deal with their baby’s face like this after a caesarean section.”

The state-certified gynecologist Dr. Candice Fraser told Romper last year that a caesarean section can cause cuts and lacerations on the baby’s face or body, which while unusual, especially in emergencies where the doctor is forced to rush the procedure, although most cuts are usually shallow, plastic surgeons are called in to help with deeper cuts to ensure that “permanent scarring is minimized”.

The Williams family are currently looking for financial help so they can contact a lawyer. Loved ones have created a GoFundMe page for the family that reads: “We went to DENVER HEALTH HOSPITAL to see our daughter Kyanni Williams [die]during a caesarean section [geboren]was about to give birth and during the process she was cut deep on her left cheek which resulted in 13 stitches in her face. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!! I don’t really have the money to hire a lawyer, please help out as much as you can. Many Thanks.”

To date, the family has raised nearly $ 2,000 of its $ 10,000 goal.

In a statement to FOX31, Denver Health Hospital said:

“Denver Health has contacted the family directly. Although this is known, in the event of medical complications in emergency caesarean sections, our focus is always on care in the best interests of mother and child. At Denver Health, the safety and wellbeing of our patients is our top priority. ”

Many found the family’s situation terrible.

“Totally unacceptable,” wrote one donor on the GoFundMe page. “I’ve never heard of it in my life. Reazjhana, I am so sorry that your postpartum recovery and bonding time is now being consumed by this terrible ordeal. Send so much love into the universe for your family. “

“If I were in this situation, I would do the same to seek justice for the wrongdoing [das]Child and mother, ”said another donor.
